KU Hillel Year In Review
Whew....it's hard to believe that finals are over and another graduation has come and gone. Now that we can catch our breath, we can reflect on a fantastic year of Jewish life at KU...one that proved to be the most successful in the history of the University of Kansas!
Among other highlights, this school year saw:
Over 500 people, including Chancellor Hemmenway, pack the Kansas Union at Rock Chalk Shabbat
A community of over 300 people join the the Jayhawk and the KU pep band to watch KU beat Mizzou at Bagels and Basketball
45 KU students travel to Israel over Winter Break
KU Hillel students repair houses in Slidell, LA during Spring Break
KU Hillel bring Dan Nichols, Rick Recht, Michael Oren, Elli Wohlgelertner, the Late Night Players, and numerous others to campus
50 women kicking and punching their way through a self-defense class with the Ali Kemp Foundation
A past-Hillel president elected to KU Student Senate Vice President and 8 other Jewish student leaders elected to Senate for next year.
Hundreds upon hundreds of Jewish students connecting with one another and with Jewish life at KU
Thank you to all of the students, parents, alumni, donors, university leaders, and friends who made this year such a success.
