Student Spotlight: Noah Kahn
Noah Kahn is a junior at the University of Kansas who has been involved with Hillel since he first got to campus. We got the chance to speak with him about how Hillel has supported him throughout college, as well as Hillel’s role in making him feel comfortable on campus. Check out the Q&A below:
What have been your favorite experiences with Hillel so far?
My favorite experiences have been Birthright and Songleading on shabbos. I loved going to a drag show for Purim, as well.
How have your experiences being Jewish on campus been?
I have always felt extremely welcome as a Jew on campus, and Hillel has always made sure its students feel comfortable with that part of their identity.
How did Hillel help you with your studies?
Hillel is always there for emotional support, whether at Wellness Wednesdays or not, and that has always been the most important thing. The staff always lend an ear and truly care about your personal life and well-being. I can't begin to describe how this has positively affected my studies. Yes, on a more physical level, Hillel was open for me to take all of my practice MCAT exams, and I'm certain this helped raise my score.
What do you look forward to doing with Hillel in the future?
Since I only got about half a year of Songleading before the pandemic hit, this is something I'm looking forward to in the future!
